Trails, Ales, and Veils

Wedding weekend! Our buddies Chris and Chrissy are tying the knot tomorrow at Stonehurst Manor in North Conway, NH so we jumped on the opportunity to squeeze in a hike in the White Mountains.  We chose Mount Stanton for its nearby location as well as its rating as a moderate hike.
Turns out it was a great choice - the trail head was fairly easy to find on Covered Bridge Road, which you pass on the way from North Conway to Attitash Mountain.  The climb started out as a fairly easy walk in the woods, but we encountered 3 steep sections that got our hearts pumping - two close together around the middle of the hike, and then one near the summit.  It was all good, as we felt we were getting in our Saturday exercise, until we had to go back down, of course.  The one at the top was a bit of a butt slider on the way down!
The perch at the summit provided a gorgeous view of Attitash, and there was hardly any traffic on the trail, so we had it all to ourselves.

Plenty of brews to be had in North Conway, but we went with Moat Mountain, which is an actual brewery.  And look who we bumped into!
I went with the Hoffman Weiss, Jeff got the Czech Pilsner, and Paul got the East Intervale IPA - everyone was happy and refreshed.  Extensive menu with lots of BBQ.  Salad with brisket was delicious, sauce was spicy and some soft pretzels rounded out the meal.  Off to Flatbread Pizza for dinner with the rest of the wedding guests, I sure hope we burned enough calories for all of the carbs consumed today.

And of course, congrats to the happy newlyweds!
